TYSON FURY VS ANTHONY JOSHUA

THE WAIT.
THE WEIGHT.
THE WHAT-IFS.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are scheduled to meet on Friday, 11 December 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The heavyweight contest brings together two former world champions whose professional careers have repeatedly approached this matchup without producing a fight. Matchroom’s event page confirms the December date.

For bettors, the main questions concern Fury’s ability to control distance, Joshua’s opportunities to land cleanly and whether the available odds justify either selection. This guide compares published prices, examines recent form and explains the markets to check before making a decision.

*Betfair quotes a different draw price elsewhere. bet365’s prose and displayed selections also differ; its draw quote is not reliably comparable. These figures cannot establish a best current price.

As a separate reference, Oddschecker displayed Fury at 8/13, Joshua at 7/4 and the draw at 22/1. The accessible attribution did not establish which bookmaker supplied each price. Review betting options →

At 8/13, the decimal equivalent is about 1.62. Its reciprocal implies roughly 61.9% before accounting for bookmaker margin. That is a market-derived figure, not an independently established probability.

Where to check Fury vs Joshua markets

William Hill’s preview covers winner, method-of-victory and distance prices. Betfair describes round and knockdown markets; its fixed-odds Sportsbook is separate from its Exchange, where commission and liquidity matter. bet365 publishes method, round-group and distance selections. These are documented market categories, not guarantees of present availability.

FURY VS JOSHUA PREDICTION

SHOT.

Qualitative fight analysis.
No guaranteed outcome.

Fight prediction: Fury to win, with a decision the preferred scenario. Betting position: no bet at an unverified price.

This is a qualitative assessment of the matchup. It should be revisited after the weigh-in and any confirmed changes to the contest.

Why Fury gets the initial edge

Fury’s clearest route is to make Joshua reset before he can deliver sustained combinations. His size gives him scope to establish a jab, vary the target and force Joshua to cover distance repeatedly.

The tactical priority would be maintaining useful space after punching. If Fury finishes an exchange within Joshua’s preferred range, his physical advantages become less valuable. A long jab followed by a predictable retreat could also give Joshua a timing opportunity.

A decision win is plausible if Fury can collect rounds through cleaner positioning and greater activity without repeatedly committing to heavy exchanges. That scenario requires concentration: controlling most of a round does not remove the danger of a clean right hand.

How Joshua can win

Joshua’s best route is to interrupt Fury’s rhythm and make his exits expensive. He needs to close distance behind purposeful work, rather than follow Fury around the ring while waiting for one decisive punch.

Attacking the body could help limit Fury’s movement and create openings upstairs. The important distinction is between applying pressure and simply advancing. Joshua would need to arrive in position to punch while keeping enough balance to defend the reply.

A stoppage becomes more plausible if Joshua can make Fury exchange near the ropes or catch him during a transition. A points victory would require that pressure to translate into clearly won rounds, rather than occasional memorable shots.

What could undermine the prediction?

The major uncertainty is how reliably either boxer can reproduce his strongest habits at this stage of his career. Recent wins do not automatically establish readiness for a different opponent.

Joshua’s recovery against Prenga demonstrated that he remained dangerous after being hurt. It also supplied a reason to question his early defensive security. Fury’s wins over Makhmudov and Wach restored activity, but do not settle how he handles Joshua’s combination of size and punching threat.

The working prediction favours Fury’s routes to winning rounds. It does not establish value at every price. Without a sufficiently robust probability estimate and a verified market, setting a precise minimum betting price would imply more certainty than this analysis supports.

Fury’s sequence combines two comeback wins with consecutive defeats against Usyk. The Wach result followed seven completed rounds; Makhmudov took him to the judges.

The useful takeaway is renewed activity. The limitation is opposition: controlling those opponents does not establish how Fury will manage Joshua’s speed into an exchange or power when set.

Joshua’s record documents two first-round knockdowns against Prenga before his comeback win. His victory over Paul followed the stoppage defeat to Dubois.

His finishing ability remains relevant, while defensive reliability deserves scrutiny. The quality and style of each opponent matter more than the winning streak alone.

THE MARKETS,
EXPLAINED.

Read the full selection.
Know how it settles.

01

Fight winner

A three-way market offers Fury, Joshua and the draw. A draw normally defeats either fighter selection. A two-way market omits a separate draw selection, but its settlement depends on the rules.

Check draws, technical draws, no contests and postponed bouts before comparing prices. Different settlement conditions are not a like-for-like alternative.

02

Method of victory

Combine a winner with a specified outcome, such as stoppage or decision. Read the label: some operators group disqualification with KO/TKO and include technical decisions within the decision category.

A Fury decision prediction can be correct about the winner and still lose if he stops Joshua.

03

Distance & total rounds

“Goes the distance” concerns whether the scheduled contest is completed. A total-rounds bet concerns a threshold, which may include a half-round.

Confirm the scheduled duration and precise cutoff. A betting-market label alone does not confirm the final contest rules.

04

Round groups

A round-group selection covers a range; an individual-round bet covers one finishing round. Greater specificity creates more ways for an otherwise sound prediction to lose.

These bets need a reasoned timing scenario. A large quoted return alone does not establish a good selection.

Winner, method, distance and round-group categories are documented in the reviewed publications. Availability and definitions must be checked with the chosen operator.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

BEFORE
THE BELL.

The practical details.
All in one corner.

When is Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua?

The event is scheduled for Friday, 11 December 2026. This is the advertised event date; the main-event ring-walk time remains unconfirmed. Matchroom lists the fight on its official event page.

What time are the ring walks?

An official ring-walk time was not available in the Netflix material checked on 4 November. Keep the broadcast start, main-card start and main-event estimate separate when the schedule is announced.

Where is the fight taking place?

The announced venue is Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Use the confirmed local schedule rather than a bookmaker’s event-listing time when planning to watch.

Who is the favourite?

Fury is the favourite in the reviewed bookmaker publications and Oddschecker’s displayed market. Prices can change, so verify accepted odds before betting. Being the favourite does not automatically make a selection good value.

Have Fury and Joshua fought before?

They have never contested a professional bout against one another. Stories about earlier sparring should not be treated as a head-to-head result or a reliable basis for a betting prediction.

How can I watch the fight?

Netflix is the announced broadcaster. Check the event listing in your account and the final schedule before fight night. A bookmaker offering betting on the event does not necessarily provide a stream.

Which betting markets are available?

Reviewed publications show winner, method-of-victory, distance and round-group markets. Betfair also describes knockdown betting. Exact availability depends on the operator, location and market status; read the event-specific rules before staking.
